Thanksgiving has passed, and it’s time for the December holidays! No matter what you celebrate, there’s no denying how fun it is to get festive and decorate our homes for the occasion. Below are 3 super fun decoration ideas that your toddlers can help out with. A holiday activity that is creative, engaging, and fun! What could be better?
Life-Sized Gingerbread Man
All you need is a large cardboard box or some construction paper, your toddler, and some creativity. Have your toddler lay down, like they are making a snow angel. Then, trace around their bodies to create a gingerbread man silhouette. Use crayons, markers, or whatever you have on hand to decorate your gingerbread man! This is a fun, relatively mess-free activity that will bring joy to your little ones.
How cute is this little craft? Make a marshmallow snowman with your toddler! Simply trace a snowman on paper, get out some marshmallows, and let your little one decorate. Did you know there are tons of options for vegan marshmallows on the market? One of our favorites is the pack from Trader Joe’s. They’re sweet and yummy, just like we remember! When you’re done with the snowman, you can enjoy the marshmallows and cuddle up by the fire! Too sweet.
Every home can use a little sparkle and a little snowflakes. This craft is super simple - grab some popsicle sticks or coffee stirrers, glue them together in a snowflake formation, and use a bit of glue and glitter (or crayons and markers!) to decorate. You can secure them onto walls, place them on tables as a bit of decoration, or even make a whole string of them and turn them into a snowflake wreath. The opportunities are endless, and you and your toddler will have so much fun creating these crafts!
At the end of the day, the holidays are about joy, family, and spending time together. We hope these crafts spark some ideas in you about fun, simple, and inexpensive ways to spread the holiday cheer with your toddlers this winter season!
